Its function is to tranquilize the mind, calm the liver and suppress the hyperactive Yang, invigorate the kidney to preserve Qi, and promote regenerating of tissues and healing of wounds. Zhen Zhu Mu (Concha Margaritifera Usta) is calcined powder of pearl oyster shell. It contains calcium carbonate and so on. Its function is to subdue hyperactivity of the liver, clear liver heat, calm nerves, relieve palpitations, and improve vision. It is used for insomnia, headache, irritability and blurred vision.

Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis) is reported to have the ability to strengthen immune system and inhibit bacteria. It can clear heat, dry dampness, expel toxins, cool blood, stop bleeding and prevent miscarriage. It is used for vomiting, nausea, fever and dry cough caused by damp-heat.

Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) is a compound of fermented wheat flour powder, amylase, vitamin B complex, ergosterol, protein and essential oils. It is warm in nature and attributive to the spleen and stomach meridians. It helps to regulate stomach functions, reduce pain and acid reflux. It is used for indigestion, heart burn, diarrhea, gas, eating disorders and poor appetite.

San Qi (Panax Notoginseng) is well known for its ability to treat blood disorders. It is warm in nature, sweet and slight bitter in taste, and nontoxic.
